The x axis represents the years and the y axis represents the number (in hundreds) of the Ibex population. Based on this graph, you can see that the ibex population began to rise in small increments and then all of a sudden the population jumped up to 7500. This was probably because there were less predators up until this point in the timeline. As you can see there is a decrease in the population and that is probably because the predators became more alert to the Ibex's camouflage. There was also probably a rise in Ibex hunting during those years. Hunters will sometimes kill the Ibexes because their horns are pretty but they shouldn't do that.
A trait that could have aided in their population was the color of their coat. Most times, the ibex is a brownish color, but sometimes they will be a white color or a really dark brown. Their color could help them hide from predators because the predators are less likely to see them when they blend in with their surroundings.
Unfortunately in the future I predict that the Ibex population will continue to decline. A lot of times, the young Ibexes are pushed off of the cliffs edges and they are also carried away by hawks. Below you can see the video of this happening. Sadly, this happens a lot and a lot of baby ibexes are dying because of this. Because the young ibex are dying, there are less adults that can reproduce.
